Industrial Buzz - Parker Vansco, part of Parker Hannifin, the global leader in motion and control technologies, has launched the DPS cluster, an innovative user interface that makes complete vehicle information accessible in a single centralised location. By incorporating the new cluster, a wide range of industrial vehicles can be operated more efficiently for greater productivity.

The versatile cluster supports up to four CAN communication channels, as well as USB, RS232, J1708 and LIN. The DPS has a maximum of 39 digital inputs, five analogue inputs, two frequency inputs and six outputs. The outputs provide a maximum current of 2.5 A, and analogue feedback for open circuit, shot to battery and ground detection. Pulse width modulation capabilities are also available.

The DPS cluster is ideal for various industrial vehicle applications, available with up to five backlit gauges, 26 positions for LED tell-tales and either a small or large transflective FSTN LCD. The robust enclosure is designed to be used in rugged environments, and has been tested to a suitable mix of standards based on the J1455, ISO and EP455 environmental specifications.

A range of further options are available, including a clock, warning buzzer, buttons and a choice of backlight colours.

With annual sales exceeding $10 billion, Parker Hannifin is the world's leading diversified manufacturer of motion and control technologies and systems, providing precision-engineered solutions for a wide variety of mobile, industrial and aerospace markets. The company employs approximately 52,000 people in 48 countries around the world. Parker has increased its annual dividends paid to shareholders for 53 consecutive years, among the top five longest-running dividend-increase records in the S&P 500 index.
